Programs

Depending on their medical equipment needs, healthcare centers can receive medications through the “Parcel under the arm” program or even equipment, medical supplies and medications through the "Healthcare support" program.

As a project stakeholder, the healthcare center assumes costs associated with logistics, land and sea transportation, customs and planning of CSI's services.

The aim of the program is to raise the technical level of health centers by providing equipment, medical supplies, medicines and sharing knowledge to support the development of healthcare.

As an international healthcare cooperation organization, CSI offers equipment in the following specialties: cardiology, surgery, dentistry, dermatology, gynecology, maternity, pediatrics, pharmacy, orthopedics, ophthalmology and primary healthcare.

As a stakeholder in the project, the partner contributes to the costs of land and sea transport, insurance, customs and CSI services.

The program is highly flexible, as it works through student interns and travelers who leave with suitcases full of medicines and small medical equipment. Depending on the scale of their medical equipment needs, health centers can more easily receive medicines through the Parcel Under the Arm program.

Drugs supplied to CSI by Quebec manufacturers and healthcare institutions must comply with World Health Organization (WHO) regulations. Most of the medicines donated by CSI are purchased from the Dutch foundation IDA(www.idafoundation.org). These purchases represent between $75,000 and $100,000 per year.
